While putting together this year's Raw Lifestyle Film Festival, Dorit, the founder and organizer of the film festival,
constantly kept coming back to the question," how can this film festival be a channel for teens and pre-teens who feel so
despondent and disconnected that they turn to self destructive, rageful behaviour?"
After making the final selecton of the films, she came to the conclusion that certain films such as
All Jacked Up, Vegan Fitness, You Can Heal Your Life (Louise Hay) and Baraka would be extremely beneficial and life
affirming to all teenagers and pre-teens. Add to that an environment where they would be surrounded and exposed to
foods that were nourishing, delicious, satisfying and straight from Nature, feed them with these live, organic vegan
foods all weekend and keep them in the company of inspirational, courageous filmmakers and a mainly raw, vegan
environmentally conscious audience and a recipe for transformation and upliftment could replace the old patterns.
Dorit was so fired up by this that she created a scholarship for 10 students to attend the film festival.
On behalf of the Raw Lifestyle Film Festival, Green-LA (with whom Dorit is partnering for the film festival) will
organize and select the winners of the scholarship for elementary and high school students.
The contest is as follows:
10 students will be selected based on the following criteria:
5 who write essays (maximum 1,000 words) and
5 who make a 8-10 minute film on "Green Solutions for an Ailing Species"
Winners will receive passes to the film screenings at the 2008 Raw Lifestyle Film Festival and the Friday night
(21st of March) Opening Reception and Ceremony at the Grand Theatre, downtown LA.
In addition on Saturday, they will be presented on stage to meet Jennifer Mattox and other filmmakers of
the film "All Jacked Up" after the screening of the film.

feel internally and externally.
